FSC Meagher Named Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach

Florida Southern College has continued its dedication to its student-athlete well-being by adding David Meagher as an assistant strength and conditioning coach.

Meagher, who began his duties with the Moccasins in early September, will assist head strength and conditioning coach Zack Wallace with the development and programming of all strength and conditioning activities for Florida Southern’s 20 NCAA sponsored sports, club sports, and cheerleading.

“I am extremely excited to add Coach Meagher to my staff,” Wallace said. “He is a man of great character and will bring many valuable things to our teams and department. His energy, knowledge, and professional experience will be a huge benefit to our program. I want to also thank our entire athletic administration for believing in the role of strength and conditioning, and expanding our staff to better meet the needs of our student-athletes.”

Meagher joins the Mocs after spending a year and a half as an Assistant Sports Performance coach at Santa Clara University in California, a Division I institute in the West Coast Conference. While working with the Broncos, Meagher was responsible for the oversight of the strength and conditioning programs for Santa Clara’s men’s and women’s golf, women’s rowing, volleyball, beach volleyball, and women’s water polo programs.

“I am thrilled to join Coach Wallace’s staff at Florida Southern,” Meagher said. “I want to thank the entire athletic administration for giving me this opportunity, and I look forward to helping the Mocs continue their championship tradition.”

Meagher is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), holds a CPR, First Aid, and AED certification through the American Heart Association (AHA). He is currently pursuing his Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) certification through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches association (CSCCa).
