The Florida Southern men’s golf team is currently ranked 19th in the country, according to the Golfstat Division II Poll, which includes all events through Oct. 15. The Mocs have an adjusted scoring average of 73.47, through three events this fall.
The Mocs highest finish so far this season was a first place tie at the Cougar Invitational presented by AFLAC. FSC had earlier placed sixth at the 2019 Doc Gimmler Men’s Golf Classic, which featured 12 Division I teams, and 13th place at the Copperhead Classic.
Freshman Chris Fosdick and sophomore Johnny Tucker are both ranked as individuals.
Fosdick is ranked 29th in the country, with an adjusted scoring average of 71.89. He shot a one-under 69 in Round Three of the Doc Gimmler, leading the Moccasins to a sixth place team finish. Individually he finished tied for fifth place, just one stroke behind the leaders. Fosdick then finished one-under at the Cougar Invitational presented by AFLAC, and placed in an eighth place tie at the Copperhead Classic, finishing three over par.
Tucker finds himself ranked 65th best in Division II. His best personal finish so far this fall was seventh place, at the Copperhead Classic. He shot one-over for the three rounds, as he made par 31 times and added 11 birdies. Earlier in the fall, at the Cougar Invitational presented by AFLAC, he posted a one-under performance, in a tie for 13th place.
The Mocs return to action on Monday, October 21, at the Otter Invitational in Seaside, Calif., hosted by Cal State Monterey Bay.
