Lakeland Ledger and Tucker have received more complaints from Better Business Bureau from customers than any other executive editor’s time.
Tucker was named Ledger executive editor Feb. 2021.
Sometimes journalists do not make good editors, Tucker is quoted to say, “I never lost the love of journalism.” Maybe he needs to be a reporter? Tucker went on to say, “not a day went by that I didn’t imagine myself back in the newsroom.”
Tucker has now stopped the Saturday edition of the Ledger as of March 26, 2022. NO REFUNDS!!!
Inside sources say his a prim a donna and not a leader.
Tucker does have the education but that does not mean he has the ability to be a good leader.
The Ledger, like almost every newspaper in the country, has seen a substantial reduction in its workforce through layoffs, corporate buyouts or attrition, going from 99 employees in the newsroom in 1999 to eight full-time reporters and editors today to cover a county of 720,000 people in 2,000 square miles.
You cannot go from 99 employees in the newsroom in 1999 to eight full-time reporters and editors today and except to be a first class news operation. More like a mullet wrapper!!
