16-year-old boy from Polk County arrested in shooting at Clearwater Beach

A 16-year-old boy from Haines City in Polk County was arrested and charged following a shooting during a “teen takeover” event at Clearwater Beach on Sunday, May 31, 2026.

During a joint news conference on June 2, the Clearwater Police Department and Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect as Noah Marsh III.

Details of the Incident and Arrest

  • The Shooting: The incident occurred around 5:15 p.m. in the 100 block of Coronado Drive, where hundreds of teenagers had gathered for a social media-promoted “link up” event. Law enforcement stated that Marsh fired seven shots during a fight, wounding a 17-year-old boy.
  • The Dispute: Investigators discovered that the shooting stemmed from an ongoing rivalry and a prior dispute that occurred last month in Winter Haven.
  • The Charges: Marsh was arrested on Monday night, June 1, and booked into the Polk County Jail. He faces charges of:
    • Attempted second-degree murder
    • Discharging a firearm in public
    • Unlawful possession of a firearm by a minor
  • Victim Status: The 17-year-old victim was hospitalized with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to his arm, leg, and chest.

The State Attorney’s Office is currently reviewing the case to determine whether Marsh will be charged as an adult. Additionally, a 17-year-old from Brandon was arrested at the scene on Sunday night for carrying a concealed firearm and resisting an officer after attempting to flee, though police confirmed he was not the shooter.
